I love our house. I mean truly love it. The first day we were there it felt like home. I no longer stress over getting on the highway after work. I no longer feel cramped in our space. I am very happy. I walk around from room to room and cannot believe I live there.

We just ordered all new kitchen cabinets, appliances, and a countertop. What's in there now is beyond disgusting. Two doctors owned the house before us. I don't think they knew that in America, we keep things clean. I cannot get it clean. I believe there are so many years of grease build up it's beyond hope. Thankfully my husband agreed so we got all new. I hate to spend the money but it needs to be done.

We are in the process of taking down wallpaper. God how I hate removing wallpaper. It's so time consuming and frustrating. I've been working for two days on just the half bath on the first floor and I'm still not done. The wallpaper is coming off just fine. But the adhesive behind it is a bitch. I will be very glad when it's completed. Then we have to tackle the rest of the house.

What's comforting is the fact we are in no hurry. This is it for us. Our home.

We leave in less than three weeks for Florida for nine days. A late anniversary trip. With every strip of gunk I peel off the walls, I just think about laying on the beach not having to think about a thing.

Nothing else is really new. I am still starting my rag on a monthly basis. I have to schedule an appointment with my doctor to discuss more drastic measures. I cannot think about that right now.

We have yet to meet any neighbors which I find odd. My husband was out doing yard work all day on Sunday. Nothing. We were in the backyard setting up the patio furniture and could see some people, nothing. While I do enjoy being left alone, it's only polite to come and say hello. When I've seen women walking by with dogs I yell hello from the front porch and they seem nice enough.

I believe everyone in our subdivision is at least 70 years old.

But we are in our house, and I am happy.
