I am not much for holidays. I hate all the hype which surrounds each and every one. My boy knows this so there isn't much expected of him, ever. On Saturday I woke up to him saying it was my day. He was going to make lunch for me. Now I am the cook in the family. Unless he grills something, I cook. So this was a very nice surprise. He told me in the afternoon to be ready to leave by 5:00...we were going to dinner but had 9:30 reservations. I said ok. 5:00 rolls around and we head over the river, with me still not knowing where we are going. We pull into a hotel parking lot and I just looked at him. He said he knows how much I love hotels, so he booked us a room. How sweet. We get in the room, fool around, and then he says it's time to go. The time was about 7:00. He then took me to see a movie, and we rushed to make our 9:30 dinner reservations. All this time I am thinking how nice this was of him to put this together for me. My favorite part of the day was when we pulled up to the restaurant. He took me to the place we went on our first official date. I was so touched he remembered. He told me this was where it all began...the beginning of our future. He told me he will never shower me with flowers, balloons, perfume, etc. The normal Valentine's Day gifts. He told me he spends every day trying to show me how special I am to him. Flowers die but his feelings for me never will. He told me I am the best thing that ever happened to him, and not a day goes by where his love doesn't grow. That is the best Valentine's Day gift I have ever received. I am the luckiest person in the world, and I know it.
