My son is going to be a year old on Saturday. I cannot believe a year has gone by. We ordered a Sesame Street cake, balloons, and an individual cake for him. I doubt he'll eat it as he isn't very much into sweets, but I am pretty sure he'll destroy it. I've waited all of my life to have a birthday party for my own child. I can't believe it's finally happening. I fix people's computers on the side for cash. I really like doing it and enjoy the challenge. Sunday I had a guy named Stan drop his machine off. I told him I would fix it that day and would call him when it was ready. An hour later that fucking idiot started calling me. He didn't drop it off till noon and I said it would be a couple of hours till I could even look at it. It was a beautiful day and we wanted to take the boy out for a while. Stan called and left four messages before I even plugged his machine in. A friend of mine referred him so I am doing it for half price to begin with. I lost my patience with him before I even started. His machine was totally messed up. I told him it would be cheaper and easier just to wipe out the hard drive and start over. Virus after virus. He said he had important documents he didn't want to lose, and didn't want me to back up because they are private. What the fuck ever. So I get back onto his machine to manually start cleaning it out. The dude is shopping for a Russian bride. He has so many bookmarks of websites for brides it's ridiculous. Now I feel bad for him. He's a little twerp of nothing who weighs about 70 pounds with his shoes on. I always fight for the underdog. I guess from having a younger brother with learning disabilities who has been picked on his entire life. He called several more times so my husband made me call him back. It turns out he had to have his computer back by a certain time last night so he could call his "fiance" in Russia. That's the only way he had to contact her. He came to pick it up unfixed. He is leaving for Russia this week for a two week stint and hopes to return with his new bride who happens to be pregnant by someone else. I know this because I asked who the woman was on his screensaver. He spilled his guts. He was asking me about how we are saving for our sons college. He wants to start an account for the child as soon as it's born. He is going to drop his machine back off when he returns and asked if I'd like to meet Elena. I said it would be an honor. He started off being a huge pain in my neck and now I hope he finds happiness abroad. It takes all kinds and I need to learn to look outside of the immediate shell.
